Job scams
Fake jobs and Kazi Majuu scams: red flags before you pay an agent
How to spot suspicious job, visa, and overseas work offers before paying registration, medical, training, or processing fees.
Quick check
Got a suspicious number, Paybill, Till, email, website, or company name? Search it before sending money.
Be careful with upfront fees
Treat demands for registration, medical, training, visa, certificate, or 'slot reservation' fees as high-risk until independently verified. Scammers often make the payment sound small compared with the promised salary abroad.
Search the agent, company, phone number, and Paybill before paying. A clean search is not proof of legitimacy, but a bad search is a strong reason to stop.
Check whether the process makes sense
Real overseas work and visa processes usually involve documented requirements, named employers, official portals, and time for review. Be suspicious of instant approvals, vague employer names, and pressure to pay the same day.
Verify through official channels
Use official immigration, embassy, employer, or licensed recruiter channels where available. Do not rely on screenshots, edited appointment letters, or WhatsApp-only contacts.
